I've been on minoxidil for about 6 weeks now and experienced sides, on some days my face is puffy and red and also some discomfort in my chest at night. This is from using just a bit under 2ml or almost a full cap of minoxidil foam once at night. If I cut my dose in half to 1ml of minoxidil once per day, could it still be effective or just a waste?

How soon before bed are you applying? There is a decent chance a bunch of it is getting on your pillow. If you sleep on your side this can cause problems. As far as the chest discomfort goes....this is very serious. It's possible that the minoxidil is dropping your blood pressure too low. I would advise speaking to a doctor asap and cutting your dose to 1 ml to see if that helps.

I don't think it's getting on my pillow because I'm using foam and it dries very fast. Well I'm just going to try this low dose and see how it goes.

It's probably only effective to the part that hits the scalp.

Just take the amount that will cover the top of the scalp, including the hairline. Even if the
hairline has receded some amount, or the vertex, for that matter.

Put it on both.

I use the liquid so I can measure it accurately and I am seeing some benefit by using only 1/2ml to 3/4ml every other day and notice less sides. Just watch your salt intake as it really can make a huge difference too. If I eat out alot I notice more facial bloating versus cooking at home.
