To be completely honest, if anything, I would consider Androgenetic Alopecia to be more related to inflammatory immune environments than immune deficient environments, but I've been somewhat out of the loop as far as the research has gone lately. I have my reasons for thinking an inflamed immune system (and often outright autoimmunity) is to blame for many forms of hair loss. Obviously androgens are the main cause behind Androgenetic Alopecia, but there is absolutely an inflammatory response going on in the scalp which contributes significantly to the loss of hair. This is partially why Nizoral helps.
I agree with you that chronic inflammation is a *major* element to hair loss. I suppose the jury is still out on whether that is moreso seen in immunodeficiency or immuno-inflammatory environments.
