my receding hairline is getting more and more botheresome to the point of consuming my every thought, im only 18, i went to see a specialist who suggest some antioxidant spray which would help maintain my current state. im quite skeptical about it though. my hairline could look halfway decent if not for all the thinning in the front. what do you think i should do? get on propecia? is it safe at my age? will this maintain and/or thicken up those really thin hairs upfront? thanks for any feedback

Antioxidant spray?? I've never heard of it and it will probably only help your cosmetic look.

If hairloss matters that much to you then you have to put measures into your own hands and use the proven treatments. I"m 18 too and had to make the decision whether or not I would give propecia a try. What made the decision easier for me was how much I prioritizied having hair. I'm going to a University next year and i'm not going to know anyone. I want to make a first impression with hair. Also graduating without my thinning being visible was very important to me, so I choose to use the treatments.

If I was you I would either use proscar by itself and see how that works for you or use both proscar and minoxidil together. Get nizoral as well. It's an anti-inflammatory shampoo that'll help maintain a healthy scalp, something thats imperative as well.

Best of luck
Kramer.

i would suggest: nizoral shampoo 1%, dr. lees topical 2% spironolactone, crew copper peptide solution, and jogging

This is < 1$ per day regimen which should meet and fight your hairloss problem on every front. spironolactone should work just as well as propecia, with NO side effects. You could also add 2% minoxidil. I had excellent results (thousands of new hairs in the crown and temples) after only 3 months using topical spironolactone as a single agent.
