So just started on a low dose of dutasteride as I needed to inhibit type 1 dht cuz my skin is oily as hell. No side effects 2 weeks in, but no side effects from finasteride at all so not really worried. So I read about spironolactone and it works by a completely different pathway than dutasteride or finasteride and I felt the pills aren't enough so I went to s5 for a topical as well. Also got some alzelaic acid to mix in as well as there is continuing arguments on which is better although I believe spironolactone to be superior as there is actual science behind it. I haven't seen any studies on alzelaic acid. So i've used enough of my s5 cream to mix in the alzelaic acid (might as well to combination therapy and since s5 is expensive it will help me save some $$$), but ive been reading about topical finasteride as well. Since I have finasteride left over since I am not using it, I plan to add some as well. Hey why not, I have it, I got no sides from it, and it inhibits type 2 dht strongly which is the hormone found mostly in hair. So how much should I add? Don't know the size of the s5 cream (20ml?) but should adding 10 mg be about right? Thanks for the input.
