Hey Guys -

It's been awhile since I've been here but a long time ago someone told me of some vitamens or something that can prevent man boobs. Or at least help.

I've been on Propecia for a long time (15 years) and I think I am starting to see some deposits around my nipples, could be nothing but if there is something someone could recommend I would appreciate it.

Thanks!
Hope everyone has been well. Oh, before I get yelled at for not searching. I think it’s my work PC but every time I tried searching I got a blank screen.

Dude... There's only so much junk you should put in your body. If propecia is really giving you boobs, you may want to stop using it.
I am not on propecia for that reason.
I may be way off base here, and this is just my opinion, but I wouldn't use drugs to counteract propecia's side effects. I'd just drop propecia.

Ya, I hear you. I've been on it for so long though. I don't think I would take another pill to counter it. Like I said though, I thought their was some sort of vitamen that would help. Could also be that I'm not going to the gym as much as I used to.

I think you're talking about Saw Palmetto which some bodybuilders claim reduces Gyno.
Most man boobs are lifestyle related, heavy drinkers and big eaters will be much more likely to suffer than the average finasteride user. I've been on finasteride for about 5 yrs and never had any probs.

Gyno is listed as a side effect of Finasteride. I personally got gyno from Finasteride.

Finasteride is known to increase a man's androgen/estrogen ratio to be in favor of estrogen, which leads to gyno and weight gain in men.

As a perfectly fit and healthy male prior to the drug, there is no other explanation. Merck acknowledges this side effect right on their packaging so not sure why people feel the need to try and blame their gyno on other factors besides the drug itself.

s.a.f, why didn't you get on finasteride earlier? I can remember you saying once "if i had the opportunity to jump on finasteride earlier i would have had much more hair left and enjoy the best years of my life" (or something like it). And as far as i know finasteride has been out for 10+ years.

As far as vitamins, Zinc might help as it is a minor anti-aromotase (meaning it prevents the conversion of Testosterone to Estrogen to a certain extent).

But your best bet will be to eat right and exercise, just as any man your age would have to. That should keep it down given that you seem to just have a build up of fat.

Dude I didn't even know finasteride existed in till last year. I never see it advertised compared to rogaine. Plus calculate also not having the internet and it also not being approved for hairloss in till the late 90's.

Chill dude, he replied already.

However, you found it right after you noticed hairloss.

I just wondered because s.a.f knew he was balding and could have gone on it eralier, but yeah internet wasn't that popular 5-6 years ago.

Just noticed hairloss? My hair had been thinning out for three years before I finally stopped the denial.
