Yeah I've always thought the worst thing about wearing a hat is that instead of distracting from your balding everyone is thinking "Oh he's trying to cover up his baldness". Then some idiot will think he can get a laugh by pulling it off "what are you hiding haw haw".

I can already picture one of my mates pulling off my hat in front of new people "just for the laugh".
