These 5AR inhibition meds normally take a full year before you can really tell. Hang in there and decide after 12 months. Not everyone responds of course, but you do need to give it a chance

What's not undertandable is stoking the misery by virtue of not seeking help. It's all within his control, and by not seeking help he is saying he doesn't want to have a normal life. If that's his choice, fine...he deserves to live with it and there should be zero sympathy or reaction to his cries for attention.
