In my quest to find a hair product that I really like and that gives me volume and thickness, I asked my former barber/hairdresser what I should sue. She steered me to Martix Spray Gel and since it was on sale, I thought, "why not?" Well, the PVP content is why not.
In researching PVP, I have come to find that it is a type of plastic coating that causes the hair strands to bond together. This had the effect of making my thinning crown looking like a real bald spot, since it grouped the hair together and away from the thin areas. Not only that, but combined with my wavy hair, it was terrible on it when dry. It caused unnecessary tangles, due to the PVP content. It makes your hair feel thick, but it sure as hell doesn't look it.
For thin hair maybe, but for 'thinning' hair, definitely not!
