well using mice to evaluate the hair loss in humans is far off, i mean the genetic structure of mice is far different to genetic structure and also the structure of mice fur is different to human hair so i can't imagine this research being beneficial to human hair loss, however we have found several genes resulting in hair loss in humans already and in theory we could find all of the genes linked to hair loss if we mapped everyone's DNA
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... apmap.html

also finding the gene and successfully curing it with gene therapy are 2 goals that are miles apart
this is all without mentioning that gene therapy will not restore the lost hair from male pattern baldness but on the other hand the development of gene therapy to cure other illnesses will inevitably help towards it's use to cure male pattern baldness
tbh intercytex, follica, aderans and Melbourne University (http://stemcellbaldnesscures.com/clonin ... g-project/) are much nearer a cure which would be cheaper, easier and above all safer than gene therapy so i don't even think it's worthwhile developing gene therapy to cure male pattern baldness

Yes i was thinking it would be better for some kind of therapy also, and like you said in the future. But i think if people like intercytex, follica, and discoverys like this will lead to some thing close enough to cure if not one. The bad thing about all of it is the speed at which every thing gets tested, i know that it is for good reason. but the discoverys are coming so fast and so often these days, its amazing to me.
