Breakthrough Research on Modified Citrus Pectin and Galectin-3 for Cardiovascular Disease, Fibrosis and other Inflammatory Conditions

http://www.dreliaz.org/blog/breakth...se-fibrosis-and-other-inflammatory-conditions

By binding to the galectin-3 molecules, Modified Citrus Pectin prevents galectin-3 from fostering harmful inflammation, excessive scar tissue build up and abnormal cellular growth. This new discovery shows MCP has enormous potential for prevention and treatment of inflammation and fibrosis related conditions for which there are currently limited or no treatments available. As a pioneer in the field of Modified Citrus Pectin research, I want to emphasize that this new research is truly exciting because Modified Citrus Pectin is turning out to be much, much, more versatile than anyone imagined.

What Dopey posted... Pectasol is good, it's what the Econugenics I linked to is. Although theirs is called Pectasol-C. It's also in combos such as http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-ToxGuard-Heavy-Metal-Detox-90-Veggie-Caps/7774?at=0

Although...Swanson's is a good deal..and makes similar claims. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU213/ItemDetail
Biggest complaint seems to be the taste/disolvability...but then others say it's fine. I just take the stuff straight and drink it down with a glass of water.

There are other brands at Iherb as well...seems they should all be ok..it's just the Pectasol has studies behind it. Maybe they're all made by the same manufacturer..different names on the bottle :dunno:

Jacob,

You should check to see if Now's Pectasol is in fact Pecasol-C which came out a few years ago (2008 I think), has a lower molecular weight and is therefore more effective. I believe all the recent research has been done using the -C version. Both were developed by Dr. Eliaz (Econugenics) and trademarked, so anyone selling it should be selling the same product. I you are a member of LEF.org it is available for $75 (or $72 if you buy 4) and about the same price directly from econugenics.com if bought in quantity.

Swanson's product is PectiPure(TM) so I would assume it is not the same product. Who knows, it might be better but I doubt if any of the clinical research has been done with it. It certainly is less expensive. There is also another product PectImmune that makes similar claims:

I was wondering that myself..which is why I emailed Dr. E if he could clear it up. If there is a difference between the "C" and the regular Pectasol...you would think he'd highlight that on his website. The only thing I've ever seen is his comparing Pectasol-C to other MCP's.

Haven't gotten a response yet. Did from Swanson's: "Please accept our apologies as the SWU213, Pecti-Pure product, is not the Pectasol brand name. You can certainly order the Pectasol brand name through us by going to our website and entering in item number ECN002 in the search box on the left. We hope this helps. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know!"

Didn't get a response on if they thought it was made by the same company...I'll try again...
