(long post) hi guys! i'm 17 and my hair started falling out when i was 16...it has been for probably 10 or 11 months and i've been on finasteride for about 3 months w/no sides (keto also) It first started with just a bunch of hairs fallin out in the shower and i didn't realize it was male pattern baldness for like 6 months of rapid shedding...my maternal grandfather is literally the only person in any branch of my family who has male pattern baldness and ofcourse he passed it to me...but my case is especially bad because i have a sh*t load of testosterone in me(deep voice, tons of body hair, started shaving at 14 etc...) this is why i think it has started so early...i'm thinning diffusely which doesn't help either, this gives me little hope for a hair transplant...now i don't need a bunch of people coming on here and saying things like "i hate to break it to ya kid, but you're gonna be bald so you might as well just shave it and accept it..." I realize this! but my goal is to maintain what i have now for as long as possible, which should be easier because i started finasteride at such a young age...also i have hope for things like HM and histogen and all that(again, hold the jokes like "don't cross your fingers HAHAHA") now i have some questions though..I have some kind of dermatits on my head and eyebrows, which makes my scalp very flaky and red, also my eyebrows flake and fall off ALOT, i've lost the same amount of density on my eyebrows as i have on my head...which makes me think "if this is happening on my eyebrows, what's stopping it from happening to my head?" like maybe my hair loss is more due to this dermatitis than it is to male pattern baldness?
