Is it plausible that Topical minoxidil affects pituitary
Is minoxidil really local. I went from a norwood 3 to having the perfectly square hairline of my youth as my story says, but I had a reaction mimicking symptoms of pseudoacromegaly so I stopped. So I'm wondering if along with it's vasodilating properties minoxidil also works systemically causing the pituitary to send signals to the liver to push out more GH as in many acromegaly cases.
If so I think perhaps the main mechanism of hair regrowth in minoxidil is it's systemic affect causing Growth hormone to be released. If so I hope someone is researching what GH is actually produced so that it can be applied topically. Anyone have any thoughts.
There's an article if you google "minoxidil" and "pseudoacromegaly"
