minoxidil and collagen

I've been reading about minoxidil and the fact that it's a 'collagen inhibitor' .. now if this is the case and minoxidil travels through the skin and doesn't just stay where you apply it .. couldn't this conceivably be affecting collagen in the face and thus abnormally aging the face ? .. I was wondering about this because I've always responded well with rogaine and such but now this is weighing on my mind .. thanks in advance for any feedback

My forehead lines have become more noticeable this last month, while i have been on minoxidil..

this is scaring me.. i also see my skin and it looks older in my forehead, than before...

Does anyone know a facial cream to combat forehead lines?

i'm only 25 for god sake...

Minoxidil does NOT cause your forehead to wrinkle.

Take care about doing those CATEGORICALLY statements..

Only one doctor with a nobel prize could say something so 100% sure like that. :-x

BTW, you are wrong, the fact is that many of us noticed forehead lines, since starting minoxidil.

There is absolutelly no proof that it does not cause premeture aging.

BUT THERE IS PROOF THAT IT MAY CAUSE PREMATURE AGING, BY US, PATIENTS WHO NOTICED IT.

That is the most BS way of arguing?

Just because there's no proof that rubbing piss on your head causes hair growth, doesn't mean that it doesn't.

Where is this PROOF?

Where is it?

Give us a doctor's diagnosis of increase facial wrinkling, then maybe I'll consider you an "extreme" and "unlikely" case.

Listen to what we said and you will find it.

IF you don't believe us, then I can't do sh*t about it. I don't pretend to convince you. Think what you want.

The only fact here is that it has caused premature wrinkling of our forehead and making our forehead lines more noticeable.

That is Fact.

This is bullshit.

Stop trying to destroy people's options by writing this hogwash.

People come onto these forums so that they can educate themselves and benefit from treatment.

You are instilling fear into people.

These forums aren't about BELEIVING people... They're about proving results.

They are about helping people with PROVEN methods.

And you're absolutely correct, you can't do sh*t about proving your supposed "increased forehead wrinkles."

What a load of crap.

As I have mentioned in the "do you look older or younger" thread, I'm a long time minoxidil user and my complexion is outstanding.

As far as my own personal experience is concerned, I have not had any sort of wrinking side effects from my minoxidil use.

ok ok guys .. settle down lol .. aplunk .. you say it does not cause forehead wrinkling .. but what's your opinion on it being a collagen inhibitor and passing through the skin ..I mean .. we all know it can cause facial hair growth so it is getting to the facial skin someway somehow and if it is a collagen inhibitor(?) then wouldn't it be accurate to say that it is inhibiting collagen in the face ? <-- red alarm .. I'm seriously considering dropping it .. no point in regrowing hair if you're gonna f-ck up your face .. not saying this is fact just opening it up for discussion

I am experiencing the more pronounced lines in the forehead like goodguy .. they're not 'bouncing back' and fading as easily as before but I may attribute some of that to all the washing and shampoos and lotions passing through my forehead .. who knows

two and 3/4 years

No effect on my compexion, at ALL, but it has made my beard a bit thicker, and it has had an impact on the hairs on the back of my neck as well. I have to shave my neck half way between haircuts to keep from looking like a primate!

my skin look a little worst from minoxidil... but most likely due to PPG allergy... i got the same effect from folligen which contain PPG too...

so now i am going to use CP serum and have already order Dr. Lee PPG free standard minoxidil to give it another go...

if there is any effect on skin tone, which I think is fairly probable for some people....I am quite sure this could be countered by a little additional exercise and drinking more water. A good excuse to get healthier :)
