Minoxidil and vasodilation

As per the title, as was wanting to know if topically applied minoxidil's effects are confined to the scalp area? I have Rosacea, and vasodilation is something to be avoided, but if it only affects the scalp then thats fine, its my face that is the problem. Any clues? I never really gave it a thought, but I've seen somewhat increased symptoms of my Rosacea lately. However, I started Rogaine just as there was a cold snap in the UK, so both are potental suspects.

Thanks for any help.

Lets face it, some of minoxidil get absorbed into the bloodstream, so effects can become systematic. It causes a drop in blood pressure by relaxing the arteries so as to allow more blood flow, so it may be possible.

You could well be right, the question is though, is the systemic effects really that significant? I don't know. I thought lowered blood pressure was a side effect rather then a guareenteed effect?

Ideally none of these side effects should happen, but we all know just about everyone has some type of problem from these drugs, some minimal, some not.
