i know that minoxidil is a proven treatment , but my bad experience with it at the hairline scares me .
I want to add thickness to my crown , minoxidil could be used as a prevetive measure ? Can it harm healthy hair ?

BEcause the hair i lost at my hairline were in a miniaturizing process . i thnik that sometimes those hair can shed with minoxidil and not regrow

Minoxidil stimulates blood flow to the scalp. If you have healthy hair, you might as well get into weekly head massages, instead.

If you put minoxidil on healthy hair they will grow a little more thicker..
But if they are healthy the best prevention you can do is take finasteride or duta

Considering people use it to thicken their beards I can't see why it wouldn't work on uneffected scalp hair. Like Arnoldd said, it wouldn't prevent hair loss as all it's doing is keep those hairs in the anagen phase longer.

I have always find this idea quite interesting.

So anyone with hair of normal denisty could get extreme denisty because there would be more hairs in the anagen phase?

Hey folks, I've been using minoxidil for about 7 months and have been unfortunately having adverse reactions, such as shortness of breath.
I've since reduced the usage to once per day Monday to Friday and I'm glad to say it seems to still be working, but I still feel not quite right from it.

My question is this... Considering my sensitivity to minoxidil, will reducing it to once per day for three days per week (ie: Monday, Tuesday, Friday) still have benefits, or will such a sparse application only cause the initial shedding stage to perpetually reset?

And if the latter, would it be best to quit altogether?

Thanks in advance
