Minoxidil dandruff question

Can someone explain to me
Why rograine and other minoxidil. products cause dandruff,

Is it the alchol in it,
or the minoxidil itself?

Just wondering.

Im only making a slightly educated guess here, but the flaking is typically caused by the skin's response to the drying effects of the alcohol. It may also very well be that some of the solution itself dries on the skin and flakes off.
