minoxidil every 2-3 days?

Of course I realise that minoxidil is likely to be less effective applied just once every 2-3 days, but is there any evidence that this would be counterproductive? - ie could it accelerate/resume hairloss/ encourage shedding?

I would like to know this as well. Especially because you cant be sure the liquid gets to the same follicles every time. Could you just be causing a constant shed? Applying minoxidil seems so demeaning to me in the first place.

Exactly. So many people seem to be asking a similar question. Perhaps someone on these boards with knowledge of the minoxidil clinical trials could tell us what the outcome of reduced dosages is? Any contributions appreciated.

Never heard about that.

But I know a lot of people apply it once per day, at night. And I heard they do good. (instead of the 2 daily doses).

At the beginning of this year I was 2 months on Rogaine and was always taking 1 day off per week. So, I applied it twice a day, 6 days a week (instead of 7) and I had some good regrow.

Greetings.

There simply aren't many established peer reviewed studies on minoxidil out there. I can easily see a truly good responder getting great results with a once a day application. Especially since, I've had great results on only once a day applications. Although, I don't believe the same would hold true for applying minoxidil every other day. But yeah, you won't know until you try. Take before and after pictures to better gauge your results. Good luck guys. You have nothing to lose except your hair. ;)
