Hi all of you i am a 17 year old NW1 ,i caught my hairloss early thanks to my hair obsession, i started using minoxidil 2 and a half weeks ago, i had miniaturiziation on my hairline. I used to comb it over with my hairs on the sides but now i cant. I think minoxidil shed them i know that it usually happens in the beginning but i am still worried.I didnt see an extra hairloss since i started minoxidil but i cant comb it over now. And i feel like most of the miniaturized hairs are gone now. What should i do? I guess that my hairloss started at June. I had a full head of hair back then but now i am NW1 and i think i caught it early. Do you think i can gain some of my hair back? Or should i stop minoxidil?

If you are SURE that you have male pattern baldness (as in, a dermatologist said you did) then stick with minoxidil, and maybe even add finasteride. But again, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW 100%
Shedding happens because new hair is pushing out the old ones....it happens.
My derm told me that i have nothing to worry about, that i am lucky i caught it early. He told me i might be maturing, and told me to use minoxidil if i am worried i would lose more hair. So i started using it 2 and a half week ago. I am using it twice a day regularly. So you say that shedding is normal and i shouldnt worry right? I used to comb over the bald places but now i cant. But in the other hand i dont see miniaturized hairs at all. I think minoxidil shed all of them but it still makes me worry

Yes we are all desperate man, most of us all face the same issues there isnt a definite cure to hair loss just drugs that MAY work, not forsure work for every one. It sucks and its hard to tell unless you post pics
The one with the blue t shirt is before minoxidil, other one is 3 weeks of minoxidil. I have a big shed but this shed includes miniaturized hairs only. I dont see no big hairs or other hairs shed. I know i am NW1.5 and thats not something to worry about but it still depresses me. I am kinda hopeful about minoxidil, i hope it sheds those hairs to bring better hairs, also i know those hairs would eventually fall out but i am still stressed. What do you think i should do

Its hard to tell but your hair looks pretty good still man, eat a healthier diet and dont stress will help slow down the process while you find answers
I agree with @McThin. You're not going to be bald anytime soon. Things look good for the next few years. Just stick with minoxidil for now and don't obsess over it. You have tons of hair, and no one is looking at you thinking, 'Oh, damn, a baldie'. Go chase some young lass on the blacktop or something.
I have no bald in my family, i dont think i am going to get bald but i dont want my hair to receede more than this. Even if minoxidil doesnt regrow some hair, it would be awesome to get maintenance for 4-5 years. Some people say minoxidil shedding miniaturized hairs is a good sign, but i am not certain though. I dont lose any original hairs rn, just mini hairs. Hope thats a good sign

You're asking the wrong person. I don't advocate the use of finasteride. If I were given to pure conjecture, given that recent studies have pushed brain development out to mid- to late 20s, I would say that it won't be safe for a 17-year-old to take finasteride in the same time that it will take for something else to come out. You'll find some idiot--probably many--on this forum who will probably tell you you're good to use it in at 18 (some will probably even say you can use it now, like the idiot ^^^ there); I suggest these people go by ignored. In reality, though, you can and will do whatever you want to do.
And, honestly, no one can tell you with any certainty that just because you're shedding it's a sign that minoxidil is working. Some people shed and don't get good results. It is true that you have to lose the miniaturized hair so that it can grow back thicker, but no really has any way of saying whether you'll get good results or not--only time can tell. Either way, just stick with it, because shedding is to be expected with minoxidil.
I have one last question. In my country, minoxil is in a spray bottle and we spray it to the scalp. But that makes the minoxidil to fall down through my face so i have to apply it more than usual. We dont have a foam minoxidil . What should i do? That makes me waste 1 bottle in 2 weeks
I have been using Minoxidil for 35+ years. I started just about as soon as Rogaine came out.
I caught it early when I was about 21. It has worked for me. I missed maybe 3 or 4 days in 35+ years. I do not ever recall "shedding."
The only downside is after all these years I cannot take the propylene glycol (PG) in liquid minoxidil.
My scalp breaks out with small scabs and it is unpleasant. In high altitude/low humidity Colorado it is not as bad as Florida.
The foam does not have PG but I am looking at smaller brands usining liquid minoxidil that do not use PG.
The people here who start and stop minoxidil are kidding themselves. Once you start - you cannot miss a day even just put it on at night. try to eat well and also take vitamins.
