Minoxidil heart rate

I've been using 12.5% minoxidil near enough everyday for over a year and six months ago my doctor mentioned I had a slightly fast pulse but my heart sounds perfectly fine, but nothing came of it, he obviously wasn't worried. I didn't mention about being on minoxidil at the time as I wasn't paying attention to side effects. However the last couple of weeks I noticed I still have a fast pulse usually around 85 at rest. Upon research I found a common side effect of minoxidil is a fast pulse, but my question is, my pulse is constantly around 85 BPM, not just the period immediately after applying, could it still be minoxidil causing it? I usually apply straight out the shower, which I've read can increase the amount you absorb and sometimes even use a bit of rogaine 5% at random times regardless of whether I've already used the 12.5. I going to try and cut out these silly amounts, do you think this could explain my fast pulse? Just to add I'm 19 been using minoxidil since a couple of months before my 18th, property is for about 7 months, good results particularly from applying minoxidil, not surprising the amount I've used! Thanks guys!

If you are wondering if the fast heart rate is due to minoxidil just stop it for 24-48 hours... If after that time in the same situation the heart rate hasn't changed it's not likely due to minoxidil. Some people just have higher resting heart rates. If it is very fast (100+?) your dr might consider checking thyroid or heart function with an echocardiogram, but even this rate is well tollerated by most people
