Minoxidil In Ethyl Alcohol Better Than In Peg Or The Same?

Assuming I'm a good minoxidil responder which vehicle would make minoxidil penetrate the scalp better?

You need at least some pg to properly dissolve the minoxidil. Solutions that are higher in alcohol content tend to evaporate very quickly leaving undissolved minoxidil residue on the scalp. I'm guessing that the current standard formulations of 30% alcohol, 50% pg, and 20% water was determined to be the most efficient vehicle for maximum benefit. Dr Lee used to make some nice 5% formulas however that were 50% alcohol, 30% pg, and 20% water. They dried quick and didn't leave the hair greasy but did tend to leave a bit of residue.

Over here where I live they don't state percentages of solvents, however the one I'm using evaporates in a few seconds and leaves residue which makes me think that a lot of the minoxidil hasn't been absorbed and that the results I'm seeing aren't the optimum, other generic formulations that are greasier which means they have more PEG didn't leave such a residue but made hair look dirty and thin, I guess ill go for the PEG one at night and the alcoholic one in the morning

That sounds like a good idea. It looks like crap but the 'grease' is a good thing really-- since the alcohol evaporates it's basically pg that's still slowly delivering minoxidil to your follicles for the next few hours.
