Minoxidil is turning my hair into a dry brittle mess

Since December 24th, I have been applying 5% Kirkland brand minoxidil to my scalp twice a day, about 1.5 ml a time. What I have noticed is that after I apply it, my hair looks and feels very greasy and sticky and you can see my thinning much more because a lot of hair is wet and clumped together. Then as it starts to dry, the greasy sticky looks turns into an extremely dry, brittle look. My hair looks and feels like hay. It looks and feels extremely damaged and brittle. I really want to continue this treatment, but it makes my hair look so horrible that I am not sure if it is worth it. Has anyone else noticed how greasy and then drying this stuff is? It must be from the alcohol or something in it. It is the same thing that happens when I put mousse or hairspray in my hair (I now no longer use mousse or hairspray for this reason). Has anyone found a solution to this huge problem? Can I get away with applying this just at night, perhaps doubling up how much I put on? I would really appreciate any advice here.

Go down to 1ml per day, the recomended dose and start a moisterizing shampoo/conditioner. Less alcohol to dry your hair and more moist from products. Nizoral is also very drying, atleast do a moisterizing conditioner after that
