how long were you on the minoxidil dude? what were your side effects?

did you try reducing to one application a day, or maybe try 2%?

I've heard that some people with sides from minoxidil can build a tolerance by weaning onto minoxidil gradually.

I suppose it's always possible that you could have had an idiosyncratic negative reaction from the minoxidil, but you also need to consider the rather more likely explanation that your natural balding process had simply advanced while you were using the minoxidil, and that once you quit using it, your balding simply "caught up" with the process!

There's always been talk about whether or not minoxidil injures normal hair or ultimately makes things worse than they were before, so I'll take this opportunity to post this pair of graphs from a recent study which compared 2% and 5% topical minoxidil:

http://www.geocities.com/bryan50001/quitting-minoxidil.htm

Notice that the minoxidil was used for almost a full 2 years, and both hair counts and hairweights were measured at regular intervals. And the important thing right now is that they continued to make the measurements for 6 months AFTER the minoxidil was discontinued! As you can see, the weights and counts took a sharp dip immediately after the end of treatment, but after 6 months, they had almost returned to the same level as the placebo group, and clearly were still on the upswing. That should be a comfort to people who have to discontinue topical minoxidil for whatever reason.

I went off minoxidil for 3-4 months, and my crown went to sh*t...

I just got depressed using the sh*t..the drip, the application, the daily reminder that I am not immortal nor Tyler Durden.

Then one day I looked back there, and it had gotten noticeable worse...so I sucked it up and went back on it....things are better now, I am more patient...

i have no proof the the degradation increase was caused by getting off it, but I have seen other posts. But you have to take into account, that everything seems to happen overnight just out of shear reaction to it.

Body/facial-hair, tiredness, skinproblems, muscleweakness etc.
I did an search on the net and found an old page where various sideeffects of different drugs where listed.
I found that the original oral minoxidil gave patients alot of different sideeffects for example muscleproplems etc.
On the min bottle the only s-effect that I could relate to is the bodyhair and it says that its propably from not washing my hands and thencoming in contact whit my skin.
A lot of Bs as far as Im conserned.
I saw a post where somebody did a healthcheck before getting employed and the doctor thought that the patient was having heartproblems because of minoxidil floating around in the blood.
And the patient was only using the 2%!!!
Im would sue Pharmacia and then I would get a transplant with my fortune, Ha

Key word in your research is "oral". You must have a sponge for a scalp if you experienced noticible muscle weakness from topical application. I'm not saying you didn't, I'm just really surprised.

DONT USE IT ON UR HAIRLINE !
as instructed, use it on ur crown only!

minoxidil has saved my hairline. There is a study showing 1/3 of minoxidil users have moderate to dense regrowth when used on frontal part of the scalp.

http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/mess ... SGDBTABLE=

Most minoxidil instructions state that it "may not" work for you if your loss is other than vertex. They have to say this because it was only tested on the vertex.

I'm on minoxidil 5% from 2 weeks and getting muscleweakness from the start I never associated this to minoxidil, but after reading this post probably I found what cause my training cutting.
Usually I training 5/6 days a week but from 2 weeks I can training only 3 times a week because of muscleweakness and my times on running are getting worse.
Hope it is another factor causing this or that on the long run this effect disappear.
