Not here. I started minoxidil and started flaking after four days. I rode it out for another few days, and, I sh*t you not, but the flakes turned into what seemed to be chunks! Kind of shocking to see your body toss off chunks of skin like that and not bleed.

Got on the Nizoral. Problem solved.

Theres nothing I hate more then those flakes. Not only do I have to carefully take them out but usually accompanying them is one or more of my precious hairs. I would really be surprised if any minoxidil user has ever completely avoided them.

I don't get flakes but generic minoxidil does itch like hell (for me anyway). When I have more money, I have to get back on Lee's minoxidil.

I've used various kinds of minoxidil over the years like 2% Rogaine, 5% Rogaine and even a 7.5% version of minoxidil from Dr. Proctor, and I've NEVER had "flakes". I've never had any other side-effects, either.

You must have a sensitive scalp! However, you shouldn't assume that other people have sensitive scalps, too. I've never had ANY problems from any of the various topicals I've used, not even Retin-A! :)

I was asking about this before. I don't really see how a shampoo can prevent the flaking caused by minoxidil because it looks like it's just the minoxidil drying up on the scalp. I would think the only way to not get this is to not put as much of it on. I thought that shampoos (nizoral/tgel) just prevent flakes from dandruff, and these flakes really aren't dandruff.

However people say they have stopped it with those shampoos, and i've been using nizoral 1% for months before I started to use 5% minoxidil (which was like 2 and half weeks ago) and I've still been getting some flakes where I apply the minoxidil. So today I picked up some Tgel to see how that works. I started another thread asking about how people rotate between the two shampoos, so I would appreciate some more input on that.

I get a few flakes from it but nothing major really. I don't if the flakes are from minoxidil or not though.
