I'd be extremely surprised if it's AA properties are the reason for it promoting regrowth, after all it induces hypertrichosis all over the body which you wouldn't associate with anti androgenic activity.

My thoughts exactly. If its AA properties were its primary mode of action, it would be expected to actually decrease hair growth in areas such as the beard, arms and legs. As we know, it does the complete opposite.
