Hello,

I have used kirkland minoxidil in the past, for about a year, with not that great of results.

I have recently been using a mix of DMSO, at 5 ml's per 4 ounces in a 5% minoxidil sulfate topical.

I have been using the minoxidil sulfate for 6 months and been using my added combo of minoxidil sulfate & DMSO for about 3 months.

I read that DMSO is not soluble in regular minoxidil, but since minoxidil sulfate is soluble in water, I have had faith in adding it to my minoxidil sulfate mix.

I feel a big difference ( mostly In the form of a slight tingling sensation), and seem to be getting better results with my minoxidil sulfate & DMSO combo than I ever did from regular minoxidil.

Also, even after adding the DMSO and letting the solution sit for weeks, there is no precipitation.

But, I read that minoxidil sulfate becomes unstable fast and reverts back to regular minoxidil, so wouldn't there be some fallout due to the fact that regular minoxidil is not soluble in regular water....?

I'm also wondering if I'm getting better results now from using minoxidil sulfate and DMSO, or would I have achieved the same thing by adding DMSO to my kirkland minoxidil, back when I was using that, but then again, the solubility issue of DMSO in regular minoxidil might be a problem.

Has anyone had any experiences or success with DMSO in minoxidil, whether regular or sulfated minoxidil?

And, has anyone had any success with a minoxidil sulfate topical? I have not that to many makers of a minoxidil sulfate solution online, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Pamela,

I have also been using minoxidil sulfate. Recently I added mint oil & DMSO at about 3% or so.

I have read the many benefits of using DMSO with minoxidil, but like you said, I also read about it not being soluble in propylene glycol which is what regular minoxidil is mainly made to use as a carrier.

Which made me switch to minoxidil sulfate in hopes that the DMSO would incorporate better. It seems to blend right in with no precipitate.

I do get a slight tingle from it, but I guess that means that it is working....???

I do feel that my minoxidil sulfate is working better than the regular minoxidil that I used about 3 years ago, but than again, I never mixed regular minoxidil with DMSO.

Please keep me updated on your progress. I'm glad there is someone else that is pioneering minoxidil sulfate. Best of luck : )
