Mixing Purified Minoxidil Powder Diy

Dear all,

I'm about to buy purified minoxidil powder and want to mix it into a 5% solution. I've studied biotechnology in university for 5 years already, so have a pretty decent background in chemistry. The only question I have is what is preventing me to use Glycerol/Glycerin as only solvent? Is this purely the viscosity/thickness of glycerin or does adding water or alcohol is necessary?

Does any of the users have experience with mixing minoxidil powder itself; I'd like to keep it as simple as possible.

Why not just buy generic minoxidil from eBay, such as Kirkland? It's dirt cheap, legit and saves you the hassle of preparing it yourself.

I'm not an USA citizen, so it's about 50 dollars + probably another 50 dollars after shipping + import taxes
