Mixing shampoos/conditioners?

Any rules on mixing shampoos or conditioners? Like, say I have Nizoral shampoo and a MSM conditioner, is there any reason why I can't just apply the nizoral and the msm conditioner at the same time and leave it on together for five minutes? Will it lose efficacy for any reason?
