Monix once a day on weekdays, twice on weekends?

I only apply Rogaine once a day on weekdays (don't want to try fast drying foam yet) and twice a day on either Saturday or Sunday depending on when its most convenient.

Do you guys think that this is reasonable or could it mean that my hair would then need twice a day every day?

Optimum results: Twice a day everyday.

Have read some people having success with once a day applications but serves only for maintenance.
