Month 11 (propecia+minoxidil) : shedding like hell

Hello, I have been on propecia for 11 months now (one year on minoxidil) and for 1-2 weeks I have been experiencing enormous shedding. Before that, I had not seen any improvment from propecia (but clearly from minoxidil at month 2). Is it possible to experience a huge shedding at month 11 ? I read some stories but it is hard to believe based on what is generally said. Did some people notice improvment after 12 months ? Thanks and sorry for my English.

I dont get it.. people always blame finasteride for shedding while using minoxidil. Minoxidil really can cause shedding. If finasteride is causing shedding it's because finasteride needs a couple hair cycles to get your hair thick again. 3 months after finasteride you can experience some shedding because it has an impact on your body and hormones witch can cause Telogen Effluvium. It's not normal if you shed after 11 months finasteride, if u read the succes stories you'll see that shedding occurs in the beginning but not after almost a year.. But it's possible that minoxidil is keeping the weak hairs to live longer and after 11 months they just cycle.

Did you use minoxidil without brakes? you can't stop minoxidil!

Yes and yes. It is both possible and happens a lot. Improvement is not only possible but likely.

Calm down I'm not here to say propecia is Evil, I'm just concerned about my shedding and I apply minoxidil religiously twice a day. Thanks WillNotLetItHappen, I hope it will at least slow down hair loss, else I would have no other solutions.

I'm sure it will. I know how it is. I'm constantly shedding pretty much at 1.5yrs. Still I haven't really lost but gained density overall...

Hello, this week my shedding seems to calm down. Of course I do not lose zero hair but I lose far less hairs when I comb it.
