Monthly blood test for finasteride?

I went to a derm today to get a legit rx for Proscar, and all was well until she told me I would need MONTHLY blood tests. Has anyone heard of this before?

I actually tried to argue with her for a minute about it before giving up and leaving empty handed. Wasted the $$$ for the office visit too. Seems insane to me.

That seems a little obvious that they are trying to squeeze more money out of you. Did she tell you what she would be looking for in the tests?

Nope, nothing specific. Just that she needed blood work TODAY, and then a month later with possible followups afterward. I told her I had never heard of that before and in fact had been prescribed Propecia by another doctor in the same office (but didn't get it filled due to cost) and he didn't require a blood test. She didn't care and insisted.

I basically just walked out at that point. Big disappointment and I am now out of fincar. sh*t.
