has anyone exper. an increase or thickening of body hair while on finasteride? if you have did you eventually find finasteride still ended up helping you keep your hair or not?

It's my understanding that DHT is what regulates body hair, so I would think finasteride would decrease body hair not increase it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

curbed my enthusiasm, how are your results on finasteride thus far and how long have you been on it? Thanks

I've had a increase in body hair on finasteride. I thought it might be reflex hyperandrogenicity and posted on a couple of forums but nobody seems to have any definitive knowledge regarding R.H.

How can you tell these things? Wow, i couldn't imagine being able to really judge whether or not my body hair count increased...unless you have hair in areas you never did?

Since I have dropped my finasteride, for a few months ago, my bodyhair has increased much.

Significant decrease, but I had my back and shoulders lasered 3 times. I have about 1/10th the hair back there now, almost non-noticable. I still got 1 laser left in my package, gotta get that before summer.

Chest and legs look about the same, for sure no increase. I might get the chest lasered once to decrease the density.

guys,

if youve seen an increase in body hair dont sweat it. remember, not everything happening to your body is a result of finasteride! jeez.

most of us here are young men, in our teens or twenties. increase in amounts of body hair could be purely hormonal and happen anyway even if you werent on finasteride. you cant put it down to finasteride. similarly, even if youre 40 or 50, men see body hair sprouting in new areas - ears, nostrils. its just the way mens bodies work.

chris, that's my understanding also that finasteride's supposed to cause decrease in body hair if anything. I can't judge how finasteride has been working for me because i've been going through a telogen effluvium, unrelated to finasteride. i've been on finasteride for 6 months.

minox_baby, i've also been concerned about reflex hyp. Aside from the body hair has finasteride had positive results for your head?
