If you know it's an "old topic" (that frankly has been rehashed 100X already), why bring it up again?

Is there a 'new' MSM with new results for the new millennium?

Its helping my existing hair grow longer. But no, no new hair in bald spots. Thinking of Maxahair/Nioxin along with a saw palmetto blend for that.

Start low with the msm, then work ur way up. 300 mg then increase. Also powder alot more potent than pill forms.

This coming from the guy who posted on miconazole nitrate (an old topic) like he discovered it, only to talk sh*t to everyone on this board for 13 pages straight. :bravo: Not to mention all the unproductive negativity you post on other people's links. Might be a good time to ask yourself why you even post on this site, since you obviously spend a lot of time here. By the way, how's your progress on miconazole going?

MSM is a good all around supplement with several benefits. I've been taking the powder form for a year now, 5 days on 2 days off. I make a supplement shake consisting of egg white protein powder, msm, L arginine, and L glutamine 2 times a day. It tastes pretty bad for sure. I just chug it down and I'm good to go.

I started with protein and msm only and felt it slowed down shedding some and added some shine to my hair, which was brittle looking at the time.

I've been on finasteride for 4 years now and without a internal or topical antiandrogen there is no amount of msm that you could possibly take that's going to beat androgen driven hairloss if that's what you have. It's a nice supplement tho

Cheers!

Never said I discovered it, but I probably gave miconazole the web's first serious look and attempt at documenting its efficacy on hairline regrowth. I never asked the question "can?", I went out and proofed the answers myself. So in that respect, yes, my balls are huge in that arena, and yes, I can talk the sh*t.

How's it going? Quit Mico two weeks ago and noticing a serious continuation of regrowth at the hairline using copper peptides.

How do you feel about that?

MSM has GREATLY reduced my shed down. It was about 70-80 hairs a day (with other stuff reduced from 200 hairs a day).

MSM reduced it to 40 hairs a day

Then to 15-20 hairs a day

Then at my highest dose (2500 mg daily) to only 5 shed hairs!!!

Think so. As I said I use it in conjunction with other stuff.

Shedding about 200 hairs a day.

spironolactone 25 mg,
Saw Palmetto 2 pills,
Nizoral 2% every 3 days
For about 2-3 mos, reduced shedding to about 80 hairs a day.

I used a small dose of MSM, shed reduced to about 40-50 hairs a day.

Increased MSM, shed went down to 15-20, then 5 shed hairs a day.

Interesting and compelling scientific analysis of your shedding evaluation. Appreciate the input.

Sorry but can you explain about MSM, i ll study about it

I've read on other hair boards it increases hair growth. Its a form of sulfur . I've long heard that sulfur does this topically.

I was using a multi vit with msm in it and didn't see any difference. But I decided to buy the more potent powder form. To use an even purer form, I used the Trimedica pure form which excludes other additives.

It is alot more potent as you MUST DRINK ALOT OF WATER WITH IT THROUGHOUT THE DAY . I STARTED LOW THEN INCREASED DOSAGE WEEKLY (as advised) and continued counting hairs expecting nothing. I noticed my shed hairs instead of 80 I'd have say 50. The more I increased, the less I shed.

It may help others grow hair but with Androgenic Alopecia, it helps keep hair on my head

I did work up to about 2800 or 3000mg but I did so to quickly and had to back it down. I have yet to see regrowth only reduced shedding.

I actually exercise order and patience in my pursuit.

1) I determine my current stabilized hair count.
2) I use something that is said to work for 1- 3 1/2 months
3) I count shed hairs and monitor bald spots.
3) If it works I incorporate into my routine. If not I return to #1.

This is how I know that Country Life vitamins (with MSM as a combo vitamin) didn't reduce my shed.

And that the powder form did.
