Mulit-Wash Shampooing routine (pre-wash/final wash)

Greetings,

I've never understood exactly how ingredients like "ketoconazole" and "Piroctone Olamine" work.

Can I assume they are only effective for the time they sit on the scalp until washed off (they never enter blood stream or anything like that)?

For those whose pre-wash does anyone use TWO different shampoos that contain differing ingredients to help with clear scalp/hair loss OR do you use the pre-wash shampoo simply to get the scalp clean to increase the effect of the final shampoo?

As I have plenty of revita/nizoral and bodyshop ginger anti-dandruff shampoo is so cheap was thinking of using these two daily (depending on how my scalp feels) which both contain anti-fungal ingredients.

Just curious for answers really.

Thanks
Rob

On my nizoral days I shampoo before applying it and condition afterward. I find the nizoral lathers way way better when I shampoo beforehand (feels like it's actually getting into the scalp). The nizoral was drying my hair out and making it look a bit thin but conditioning afterward completely stopped that.

If you're using nizoral then that's the only anti-dandruff shampoo I would use. Anti-dandruff shampoos are a bit harsh and have a tendency to dry out the scalp. I'd just stick with the nizoral and then use a regular shampoo and conditioner on your off days or before and after nizoral applications as well. I'd also just use the nizoral every three days or perhaps every other day if you can handle it, but I'm not sure how much increased benefit that would have if any.
