Well its been ages since I last posted on here, owing to the fact Ive just been sooooo busy at work. Anyway its been 10 months since I started my Propecia, Nizoral and American Crew revitalise regeime and its been bit of a rollercoaster to say the least. To start with I am disappointed I couldnt quite justify posting this in the "success story" thread, but mods if you disagree feel free to move it. Heres my story:

Background: I was Norwood 2.5 heading towards Norwood 3 when I started my regeime 10 months ago. I take propecia every morning and use Nizoral twice a week. I use American crew revitalise in a casual manner, maybe 3 or 4 times a week. I also use Lock, Stock and Barrell thickening shampoo.

Sides: After reading the various horror stories posted on this site and others I was obviously slightly apprehensive starting Propecia. Fundamentally I had no major sides using Propecia. The first few months using it I had very mild testicular pain, nothing major but noticeable. I also developed oily skin, particular on my T zone. This was all really, I suppose I am lucky but I honestly didnt really expect to get any major sides in the first place. The only side effect from using Nizoral was my hair was very difficult to style after using it!

Sheds: Two months into my regeime I had a major shed that lasted about 3 weeks. The kind of shed where in the shower you look at the shower floor and think "oh sh*t" but anyway that cleared up. Was pretty frightening and I think if I hadnt read other peoples stories on this forum about sheds I might have thrown in the towel then. Im glad I didnt!

Success: Back when I started my regeime my goal was maintainece. I didnt really need or want regrowth. So what has happened. Well my recession on my left temple has stopped or slowed to like a snail pace. However recession on my right temple has continued, maybe slightly slower than before treatment. The result is my right side is more receeded than my right! This however doesnt bother me, as I kind of style my hair combed over on the right side of my hairline, and spikey on the left side. The result is pretty effective. I havent lost any hair on the top of my head or vertex and my crown is still pretty thick so I suppose Propecia is doing what I says on the box. I am disappointed with the result of my right temple still receeding but I suppose it has only been 10 months and I havent introduced Minoxidil into the equation yet. At the end of the day my hairloss has slowed but not completely stopped. I can still style my hair pretty nicely so I guess Im kinda happy. I will post again at the full 12 month mark.

If anyone has any questions I will answer on this thread. Cheers guys.

My current situation is similar to yours. Been taking propecia since last fall and it has def allowed me to maintain and even regain some thickness up front, but the temples (especially the right) i fear are still creeping back verrry slowly. My hair naturally parts in the middle tho and because of this my hair was looking pretty bad front and center! After almost a year on propecia its slightly better. Good luck!
