My first post... Looking for some general summaries

hi all! I'm 23 and obviously suffering from male pattern baldness, I'm about a Norwood 3. I always knew I was going to go bald young, always had a high temple hairline. In the past 2 years it has receded dramatically, and the day I hit 23 it's like my hair thinned to another level! I have been reading on this website for months now, and as much as I said to myself I would never go on finasteride (obviously due to the sides) the more I see my hair thin the more I warm to finasteride.

Basically what I'm asking is what does everyone recommend based on their own experiences with finasteride? I would probably only ever go on propecia 1mg. Or does anyone recommend anything else?

pretty much went thru the same thing..told myself i would never use finasteride but now im ready to take the plunge and will be picking up my prescription this week..thinking to start off with .5 eod and see how that goes for a few weeks.

Agree. My hairloss has been slow over 15 years. Wish I would have started at your age but didn't because I was scared of sides. Probably would be sporting a nw1.

You really noticed it getting dramatically worse in just one or two days? How bad was it? Was there anything else along with it like extra flaking or inflammation?

Yeah it was weird, I literally woke up one morning and went to the bathroom and done the routine check, and it just seemed thinner! My uncle told me he started going bald at 23 so maybe it's just my imagination but it does seem thinner

I'd start finasteride ASAP, I didn't start until 3 years into my hairloss and regret it as I'm a Norwood 2 instead of 1.5 due to waiting. I did get a minor ball-ache for the first week but it subsided and other than that there has been zero problems.
