I just got my spray today (finally) but i was surprised about it. It was black liquid which was kinda wierd because I was used the the blue liquid from tricomin. Anyways I tried it and im not so sure about it anymore. I put it on and my scalp and was a little itchy.

(With tricomin it just tingles, its not itchy)

And then i put the folligen in my bald temple area and rubbed it in. Then like 2 min later it was like drying on the scalp. It didnt look like it was getting absorbed in like it does with tricomin.

What do you guys think?

Also i tried the folligen conditioner and It made me feel like a girl. It has a feminin touch to it and smells like its made for a women. If some1 woulda told me like 2 years ago that I would use a conditioner like folligen i woulda been like no way ur wrong about that im no girl lol.

Anyways the conditioner gives me no problems though.

The folligen spray should be a very dark green. If not, you may have a bad bottle. I have used it for years and feel it really works well.

No offense Bruce but to my understanding Tricomin is the only one that is clinicaly proven. Also I read an article that said Folligen could cause cancer or something like that due to its delivery system. I dont know if this was just a Tricomin ad bashing them or what but it seemed real?

Folligen sucks! I woke up this morning and the areas where i put the folligen it was all dried up with dandruff. And i barely put any on 2. Plus it smells like sh*t. I think it is hurting my hair more than helping. There is no way im touching the spray ever again! And for some reason I just dont like the idea of putting a dark black liquid on my mug. It sucks, what a waste of cash.

Tricomin is way better in my opinoin.

Folligen and tricomin were created by the same researcher. While it is true that tricomin went to phase 2 trials, it never got an approval from FDA to sell as hair loss product. So, it is an Unapproved product, just like folligen.

And tricomin has altered their formula from the FDA trial days.

Folligen is the latest formulation from Dr Pickhart and I have used it for many years. I like it and it works FOR ME. Everyone has to make their own determination on these things.

Re: cancer, never heard that and I would love to see data rather than "somebody told me."

How folligen works:

When you are young, your scalp is thick and your hair follicles have a rich blood supply. However, as you age the processes that regenerate hair follicles slow. In males, DHT adds a further negative to hair growth. Your scalp thins, its blood supply is diminished, and it provides less support and nutrition for your hair follicles. This produces smaller follicles that produce thin hair shafts.

Folligen contains skin remodeling copper-peptides to help improve scalp health, help hair health by improving hair follicle vitality, and by and reducing the generation of DHT in your scalp.

Skin Remodeling Starts with Hair Follicles

Skin remodeling is the key to keeping hair's health.

Skin and scalp renewal starts with the hair follicles. The body's signal for skin remodeling and renewal first enlarge the hair follicles. New skin cells arise from the hair follicle and migrate into the surrounding skin area.

This effect was first noted about 50 years ago during World War II. It was observed, in patients with severe burns and burn scars, that if hair follicles were growing at the edge of the burned skin, then the was an excellent prognosis for healing of the burn. If the follicles were enlarging, the healing was poor and the burn scars remained.

Later, in 1985, we found that copper peptides not only stimulated healing of wounds but also increased the size of the hair follicles near the wounds. The copper peptides were not hair growth stimulators, per se, but did increase the hair follicle size and vitality.

In recent years, it has been established that genetic modifications in mice that stimulate skin remodeling also increase hair follicle size (Fuchs 1998). Genes such as sonic hedgehog (Sato et al 2001, Nanba et al 2003, Oro et al 2003. Mill eta al 2003), catinin (Huelsken 2001, Van Mater et al 2003), Wnt (Stenn 2001) and Noggin (Botchkarev 2001) all enhance hair follicles then produce remodeling.

Middle Figure. The remodeling signal increases the size of the hair follicles.

Bottom Figure. The enlarged hair follicle grows thicker hair and begins to produce new skin cells that migrate into the surrounding skin and rebuild the scalp.

Prof. Hideo Uno (who wrote UpJohn's textbook for physicians when Rogaine first was marketed) have found that skin remodeling copper-peptides convert thin, vellus hairs into thick, terminal hairs. (Uno and Kurata 1993, Uno, Packard, Patt 1996). Numerous studies have found such copper peptides to increase hair follicle size. Also, even modest increases in copper in the skin produces over 90% reductions in the production of DHT, the hair growth inhibiting hormone. Increased tissue copper levels also decrease damaging types of oxidations and protein crosslinking (protein glycation) and raises DHEA levels. See Copper: Your Body's Protective & Anti-Aging Metal

The Folligen products are the newest invented by Dr. Loren Pickart, whose earlier hair stimulating inventions have led to Tricomin which has been shown in clinical trials to stimulate hair growth and GraftCyte which has be shown in clinical tests to stimulate the success of hair transplants.
