My girlfriend on baldness

I was talking to here about youtube, and how some people make millions off it and I showed here a pciture of pewdiepie. I said it probably helps that he's very handsome. The picture I showed actually cropped off the top of his head and she said "he's not handsome, he's bald!". I've heard her make similar comments about bald friends when showing pictures on facebook. One guy, the same age as me (29) she said "oh... he looks old", I said I was going to hang out with him next week asked her of she wanted to go and she said "I don't know.... Is he really a good guy?".

I can conclude from this two things.

1. She doesn't like bald guys, she thinks they look old and doesn't trust them.

2. I must be doing a good job hiding my own hair loss because she hasn't realised yet, if she did, I doubt she would make these comments. I'm probably not going to tell her.

Funnily enough, she has very thin hair herself, don't think she realises though.

Girls dont like bald because they look old .not because they look ugly or bad..
It is major factor in my failure..

Also..may be also because that as all old person are married..
Many Girls dont look on bald..

Perhaps you girlfriend is realized very well that you are actually thinning and wanted to make some subtle comments that you should do more to fight your hair loss... Perhaps she is also aware of her thinness and is dating you (not only but also) because you are similar to her and she feels that she does not deserve some guy with no thinning hair. Whatever it is, there is no girl that honestly likes thinning hair.

She definitely has not realised that I'm thinning. I don't look like I'm thinning anymore and I hide my temple hair loss with long hair/bangs. She definitely hasn't realised that she is thinning either. She was just talking the other day about how she wants to grow her hair long and how she's getting her hair cut in a way to help this. Truth is, my thinning isn't noticable anymore and I hide my recession, and she's just unaware of her own thin hair. There's no halo effect either, I've been seeing her since March. I get too many compliments on my hair to believe that people realise I'm losing hair, so I'm going to discount that theory.

She's Japanese and since it's extremely rare for Asian guys to go bald in their 20s or 30s, maybe she doesn't realise that it is common and natural among some ethnicities (particularly British isles and Arab men).

@ saurabahj, yeah, she always seems to pick on people being bald looking old. I mean she's right, but pretty blunt about it. What worried me most was asking if my bald friend was a good guy, seemed like she distrusted him simply because he was bald...

and **** wat a gut punch that she is asian and still doesnt like baldness. i always figured asian girls wud be a backup since theyre less desired than white girls

First world countries, high beauty standards and male grooming. Androgynous guys are the in thing.

If you're into poverty sex tourism, then I'm sure you'll find women who don't mind baldness if you go to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Phiilipines. Japan, Korea or Hong Kong probably less so. I've seen some beautiful women with bald guys here, but generally women in their 30s with guys maybe in their 40s who probably had money and spoke the language.

lol that she really did not realize that... but I defiantly know some asian guys in their 20s who obviously are thinning. In fact I once had a roommate from Shanghai who was getting really quite bald in his late 20s. So I guess it must be also common in Japan. However for those who never heard about MBP (but perhaps occasionally saw some younger men thinning) it porbably does not come to the head that some men are getting balding from teenage age.

It's not common in Japan. It's very common for men in their 50s and 60s, but very rare for men in their 20s and 30s. Ypur room mate was a rare and unlucky exception. You'd be surprised how dense some women can be regarding Norwood 2-2.5. They see imperfect hair, they know it doesn't look quite right, but it doesn't register as balding.

I think you could still bag yourself a nice mail order bride if it came to that. Every now and then I will see a very young asian girl with slob of a man. There is no way in hell that he would pick up a girl like this without help. It grosses me out just thinking what these women have to do with these men just because they wanted to get out of poverty.
