Hi all, I have been reading a lot of threads and topics and I learned that it is much easier to prevent hair loss than to regrow hair. I am still young (17 years old) so I can't use finasteride. However I searched for alternatives to make my hair thicker.
So I decided to eat lots of vegetables and other healthy food :
I eat a lot of :
-Avocadoes (they contain beta-sitosterol which innhibit the enzyme that creates DHT)
-Pumpkin seeds (rich in zinc)
-Bell peppers and kiwi (for the vitamin C)
-Poultry and fish (they contain protein and hair is mostly made of protein)
-Walnuts (they contain omega 3)
-Spinach (for Iron and Zinc).
I try to avoid as much as possible junk food, sugary products. I eat digestive biscuits instead.
-I also apply once a week Olive Oil on the areas where my hair is thin and wait 4.hours before showering. Olive oil is said to prevent DHT on the scalp.
-I take cold showers because it is better for the hair, hot showers make hair more breakable.
-I use Vatika Shampoo that contains olive and aloe vera.
I have now better looking hair than before and it sheds a lot less. I used to lose over 30 hairs on shower and now I shed only about 5 hairs.
But I have a few questions I would be grateful if you answer :
1 - Does olive oil work forever on the hair, or does the effect decreases as I have read about rogaine ?
2- I have read online that black tea reduces DHT more than finasteride, is it true ? Should I begin drinking blacl tea ?
3 - I have also read that green tea increases DHT, and on other websites that it reduces DHT, what should I believe ?
