My hair line is receding and i am so scared

Okay I am 20.5 y.o and i first started noticing my hairline very slightly receding on my right side towards the end of senior year but thought nothing of it and ignored it, then when i was 19 i didn't really monitor it but i can assume it got worsened a bit more and it was last year around when i turned 20 it was receding more on the right side maybe a little over an inch and now eight months later it has affect my temples more (especially right side) and on the right it seems to be heading inward, those eight months ago i used to be able to just gel my hair downward and it looked not that bad but now that its going inward i have gel it to the side going back. My temple hairs are thinning more cus now i use charcoal to make the line stiaghter and darker. I have not yet seen a doctor but i know my grandpa had really round m and my dad shaved his head bald b/c i can see in photos his hair start to recede...Okay all my worries being said i want to try finasteride, and anything and everything to help.

I very recently (3 days ago) started changing lifetime patterns like taking cold showers/ taking multivitamins/ eating more protein/ washing my hair every other day (always used H&S). so before i would take warm showers everyday and wash my hair everyday. oh and sometimes ive used a hot blow dryer and when i was in hs and had long hair i used a staightener and still did to give it more volume but now i know that heat is a killer so i dont anymore.

i need advice. i cant bald in my 20s, i cant! i wont!

just take finasteride 1.25mg a day. Don't waste your time with minoxidil or anything else for now these will almost certainly not give any additional benefits for your type of hair loss. Get nizoral 2% use 3 days a week. Stop taking cold showers. That is all you can do good luck.

Some hair loss specialists can run tests on you to see if finasteride would be effective for you.

Damn, your recommending a hair system already? A little premature in my opinion? I would say educate yourself on finasteride and make a decision if it is right for you. That is really all we have at the moment. You can try minoxidil, but I don't think you are in a position to be wasting even more time with weaker treatments.
