ok, in the beginning of May of this year i started using rogaine liquid for 3 months and in the beginning of aug i switched to foam in the front half of my scalp and continued liquid in the back half as i am a diffuse thinner. so in total ive been on minoxidil for 4 months.
I examined my frontal hairline and although its as low as its always been, its thinning ALOT and i can see my scalp. further no new hairs are growing except for very thin hairs that can grow pretty long but do nothing cosmetically.

1 anyways i was wondering if i purchased fake rogaine foam or if that is even possible. i purchased the foam from ebay and i recieved it with no instuctions and the packaging had no ends just that oval pakage. this stuff looks ligit but im wondering y if foam is suppose to be stronger y does my hairline look worse.

2 and what can i do to improve my hairline because maintanence wont be enough now

Should I stop minoxidil in front?

Man, should I stop using minoxidil in the front? II started to re-apply (I tried it 1 year ago) 2 weeks ago in the frontal region and it is already getting a lot thinner. Before I began using it, it was thin so I thought using the foam would thicken up a little and offer maintenance as well. Was I wrong? Should I get off it before things get worse? I am so nervous about being one of those guys who wish they never tried it as their hairline was decimated and never grew back! What should I do?? -Tim

When I started minoxidil I almost lost an entire centimeter of hairline but then it regrew and it looked even better than before. This happened over a period of 5 months. Now things haven't improved but they haven't got worse.

finasteride can regrow some of the frontal hair only if you are at the initial stage of your hair loss. (<=NW2)

I don't know where to get it from, but for the hairline an extra-strength formulation of Minoxidil 12.5% + Azelaic Acid cream is designed to target specific areas of stubborn hair loss, like the temples or the crown (in the case of very fine hair or almost bald patches).

Minoxidil 12.5% + AA cream is said to be highly successful in treating the hair-line and other hard-to-treat areas.

Anyone know?

Thanks for the link. It seems it's blended together and just applied as a cream. They produce it exclusively:

"12.5% MINOXIDIL AND AZELAIC ACID 5% IS A PRESCRIPTION-ONLY TREATMENT DEVELOPED BY THE PHARMACY. IT IS EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE FROM THE TRICHOLOGICAL CENTRE. "
