My last question about shedding.

i know i have been persistent about this subject but i know enough now to know what will happen and what won't. my question is, Has anyone made a full recovery from Telogen Effluvium? like i say on my other post that i am losing hairs from the side and back and that some of those hairs are thin. its like whenever i scratch or gently tugg, i find hairs of all sorts. 2) i have peach fuzz growing where my temples use to be, how long does it that take to become regular hair?

sorry, i know this isnt what you want to hear, but i doubt its a T.E you're going through. losing hair from the back and sides is perfectly normal with male pattern baldness as well. in fact i lose hair from my sides, my sideburns, the nape of my neck, basically diffuse all over with a little hairline and temple recession.

get on propecia and nizoral for the time being, give it a year, if it doesnt do much add minoxidil for another 4-5 months while continuing propecia, if that doesnt help, switch to dutasteride and maybe some topical spironolactone.

look up the regimen i mentioned above. Regrowing thinner hair after shedding = male pattern baldness as well.. though in some cases iron deficiencies and t.e regrowth is ssomewhat vellus before the thicker hair comes in, but losing hair at the temples = male pattern baldness, and nothing else.

ok..maybe i need to tell you the whole story. i took real propecia in 2003, i bought a years supply and i did not expreience anything like this before then i switch to generic and also bought a years worth. i am almost 100% sure that it was fake because i didn't feel any of the sides effects with it (i.e itchy nipple) then march of 06 i bought real proscar and take 1.25 mg of it.

i have noticed that when i took the real stuff in 2003 i had itchy nipples couple of times a month, taking real proscar now, i have itchy nipple now and then. taking the generic sh*t=nothing whatsoever so this means i was doing nothing for my hairloss all of 2005.

so i think since i have been off finasteride for more then a year and ALL OF A SUDDEN take 1.25 mg, my follices are in shock or something and i am losing hair all over. BUt my question is, did anyone recovery from this? i don't want to lose hair from the sides and back either.

Your sides and back of head won't thin with male pattern baldness. It will just thin where the male pattern baldness area is. Ever notice people walking around with the "horseshoe" (bald on top and hair all around sides and back)? It's still thick as it ever was. Telogen Effluvium will thin your whole scalp, including the back and sides of your head, sometimes eyebrows too.

This is very untrue. My dad had nothing but a very thin wispy "horshoe" area, harldy as thick as it once was. It may not thin as fast as the front, top, or back...but the horshoe area definitely thins. My "horshoe" has thickened since using finasteride, which only tells me that it had thinned somewhat.

so did you ever suffer from Telogen Effluvium or did it naturally thin there. my dads horse shoe is thick i forgot how my grandfather's horse shoe was but i think it was thick too. so i think iam suffering from Telogen Effluvium. or atleast i think i am.

Probably due to aging, most get thin hair when they age, whether they have male pattern baldness or not. I see lots of old ladies with thin hair.

newguytothisforum: Please, stop kidding yourself with all these futile, hopeless, and pointless snake-oil treatments. I'm 40, and I was once as desperate and scared as you are now. Baldness is now your reality for the rest of your life. Accept it like a man, grow some balls, and come to grips with the fact that your youth, at least outwardly, is over. Life goes on without hair. There is NO cure for baldness! The sooner you accept this obvious reality, the better off you will be. Good luck.[/b]

Ok great! Thanks!

Now go and live in your perfect state of acceptance and leave the guys on this forum alone who are searching for their on way of acceptance. If their solutions don't agree with you then it is not your responsibility to chastise them. To each his own, please go troll somewhere else.

Dukyshyboy is an obvious troll when he makes comments like "accept your youth is outwardly over". Dukshyboy you don't fool anyone- you're a bitter troll that is trying to make everyone here even more miserable than trying to help. Karma is a biatch.

Cassin, you can throw insults at me all you want, but one day(unfortunately for you, probably 10 years from now) you will realize that I'm giving very good, realistic advice to balding guys who are not only rapidly losing their hair, but their youth, as well. Deluding yourself by believing that creams, weaves, wigs, drugs and plugs, will do anything other than prolong the agony and humiliation of early baldness, will only cause you, and others on this site, much harm and a damaged self-esteem. Baldness bites, but living in a dream world where everyone around you isn't fooled by whatever ghastly "cure" youve got stuck up top, is much worse. Shave your head, take care of the rest of your body, and no one will care that you are bald. This is just a fact you will one day have to accept. I've gone through it. Good luck.[/b]
