My new dutasteride tastes different

Hi chaps,

I got a new 3 month supply of dutasteride from my usual source pharma orders dot com but this, my thrd batch, tastes different when I'm taking the tablets. The version of dutasteride I use is called Veltride and the little white pills usually don't have any taste when I'm taking them but this batch have a noticible taste which is very different. What does this mean? could it mean that this batch, or the batches before are/were fake? They must have changed something in the pill to account for the new taste.

PS - I'm at the 6 month point of treatment and have got fantastic results but I'm also on minoxidil so it's hard to say whether it's the dutasteride or the minoxidil or both that have led to my regrowth.

never heard of the name veltride being used before


its quite possible the ingridients could be altered or even fake....ive encountered dodgy pills before that was from united pharmacy though


best thing to do is order from the same place everybody else does, youve got more chance of knowing that the product your getting is genuine then, most people here order from:

inhouse pharmacy: for generic dutasteride

melonipharma & elitenet pharmacy: for brand name avodart

Thanks for the reply. I took my second one of this batch and the taste almost mad me throw up. My stomach felt terrible for the rest of the night and I spent a good few hours trying to hold down my own vomit! this has really worried me! It's my third 3 month batch from them and I haven't had a problem before.

there are only 3 recognised companies that make dutasteride. They sell, dutas, duprost, and dutagen. All of these are in soft gells. If you got it from a different source, it is probably fake. Since you got sick, I think you may have been given the wrong med. Toss those in the trash and buy some real stuff before you lose your hair. Inhouse has free shipping that takes 1 week. Every other place takes about 19 days.

Thanks college. These pills i've been taking are in tablet form and not soft gels. I must say though that I got some of the sides associated with dutasteride such as watery semen and reduced libido so I assumed that the pills at least had some amount of dutasteride in them. This new batch is very nasty. it tastes like chalk and some strong chemical.

My problem with inhouse pharmacy is that I ordered soem meds from them almost a month ago and still have not received them so I am hesitant to order more.

I should also mention that I'm in the UK.

I am switching from Propecia to Dutasteride as soon as my orders get delivered. I have been on propecia for 22 months with no progress in regrowth, but able to keep remaining hair from falling out.
I am hoping that dutasteride gets me some regrowth without bad sides - I had no sides at all with propecia.
I ordered one batch 100 pils from United and one batch 100 pills from "ElitenetPharmacy", should I be concerned about either order ? for getting real meds ?? the pills should be soft tabs right ?? any special color ?

It’s all about sticking with the right supplier – if it ain’t broke don’t try and fix it, but finding the right one is always the initial problem.

The main ones people here use are; united and inhousepharmacy They are not as cheap as some of the others, but a lot of people see them as being more reputable. I think both ship from Asia so that may affect delivery time plus I had a bad experience with inhouse once, but everyone else seems to rate them so it was probably a one off. I would rate them 4 / 4 each. Merlonipharma are also popular but I think ordering is a pain - no personal exp on this one, but given what I have heard a 2 / 5

I get my generic dutas from evopharmacy.com but they have a limited hair loss selection, however they make up for it with other products like ephedrine and smart drugs etc: 3 / 4 elitenet pharmacy are also similar but have quite a lot more products both hair loss and on hair loss. 4 / 5

Thanks guys. Today I received a months supply of Avodart after ordering with elite net yesterday! Thsi is the second time in a week I've used them for drugs and both times I've received my order the next working day! I'm quite amazed at the speed of delivery and reliability. They have dutas on back order so as soon as they have it back in I will order 6 months worth to keep me going for a while. I can't really afford genuine avodart every month!

I'm so glad I've found a decent source now!
