American Crew:
Good: Can't think of anything good about it.
Bad: Hair is limp, my hair does not look very good with this shampoo. I am only occasionally using it because I don't want to throw it out.

L'Oreal Thin to Thick:
Good: Nothing makes your hair look thicker! I love it! I call it my going-out shampoo, because it always looks the best. And it's fairly cheap.
Bad: Does not contain ket and other stuff like Revita.

Jason Thin to Thick:
Good: Leaves hair looking okay, like a 8 out of 10 compared to L'Oreal.
Bad: Not very much foam, hair looks dry and does not have particularly great volume.

nizoral (United Pharmacy):
Good: My hair feels really clean afterwards. A little goes far.
Bad: Hair can look pretty dry if I use it alot. I can get some scalp itchiness if I use it 3-4 times a week.

Revita:
Good: I've used it three times, hair looked pretty good. Contains ket and other popular stuff.
Bad: Does not foam up much, hair has less body than L'Oreal.

I'll be phasing out stuff, and just going with Revita DS and Vive L'Oreal going forward.

Yeah it's a great combo. I was already doing nizoral + Vive, had to really the nizoral was making my hair look wispy at times.

so you prewash with vive on your revita days?

cool

how long do you leave the vive in for? i like to leave it in for a minute or so but i wonder if i left it in longer if it would make my hair look even thicker?

I was washing with Revita, and then Vive. But you guys said I should switch it around so I did. I am not using the one with conditioner, my hair has never liked conditioner. I have some AC conditioner, so if I use any, it's just a dab of that.

that would explain my just OK results. I should get the combo. It is so cheap. I'm tempted to try aveda pure abundance, though.

I personally don't rate the Aveda. I just find it another average thickening shampoo... ended up giving it to my girlfriend. I'm just going with gentle shampoos at the moment, or stuff that smells good, like the TIGI range.

i used to use vive back in the day when my hair started going. It was pretty good but i like jasons better. My hair feels better after using jasons ... light and bouncy.

I'm noticing the thicker my hair gets the more the Jason stuff looks better. But I think if your hair is very thin most of these shampoos don't help. Let me reiterate for the newbs, Vive is a great ego boost if you need it.... Only $4.90 too.

I agree Klink and thanks for the advice.....I ran this L'Oreal 2 in 1 stuff the last week and what a difference, it really thickens it up and I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a little extra thickness. Definitely a noticeable difference. :)

does it have to be the vive shampoo/conditioner or does the vive pro thickening shampoo work alright by itself too

I don't use the Vive with conditioner, my hair always looks limp on conditioner, has been like that since like forever.
