My dermatologist recommended I go see Dr. Virginia Fiedler, who specializes in hair loss and has run experiments on rogaine and other products. MY Dr said that I might have more luck seeing her as she knows much more than her.

I also had the option to do a biopsy. but didn't see the point if it's most likely MBP, would be a waste.

MY dermatologist was really hesitant to give me finasteride, saying it's not something shes like to give me at my age (22) and that my hair looks great as is.

heres the problems

1. The specialist she recommended to, is cash only, insurance won't cover anything.
2. I can style my hair pretty well to hide receding, but my temples have taken a big hit, as well as hairline.
3.I'm in school, so I have to prioritize my money, go see that doctor, or take a chance and just get finasteride.

I have a ton of tiny hairs on my temples and hairline, so I want to say theres stills a chance to bring them back to life if I start on treatment.

My hair is very thick, minus the temples and hair line that have took a hit. I want to take the offensive on it before it gets any further

Should I go see the specialist? or get on finasteride asap?

Thanks for the help

you are definitely receeding, I would just start finasteride. Get the generics they are cheaper off the alldaychemist website. You don't need anything else
