My story 19 finasteride/min/nizoral UPDATE 3/08/2011

Hey there, I'm a long time lurker so I thought I would post my story.

Ive been loosing my hair since I was about 17 maybe even 16. It sucks to be loosing your hair at such a young age, I could easily accept it if i was in my twentys but in your teens is just an awful experience, but I know I'm not alone. I tried rogaine for 4 months a while ago but I didn't really see any improvement so I stopped using it.

Then a few months ago I just got too depressed about it to the point were it was affecting things, I decided I was going to have to commit to doing something about it.

These forums were a huge help to me so for that, thanks.

I was using minoxidil for about 3 months prior to being on finasteride and nizoral, but I didn't see that much of an improvement really so this is pretty much baseline.

Let me know what you guys think, I'de like to think that the front has grown back abit but I know its still early days! Thanks.

UPDATE 3/08/2011:

So I've been using finasteride for about 4 weeks now, everything was fine before but I've been having some major sheds recently. Is this normal? I was thinking about switch to merck rather than cipla fincar for peace of mind?

The different lighting makes it hard to tell any improvement but lucky for you it looks like you caught it pretty early. Stick to it and keep us updated.

Keep using minoxidil while you're on finasteride. Hope you see great success.

You seem to not have any hair problems, at least from the angles in the photos.

May be you only have a mature hairline, but no hairloss? It looks fine to me. Worrying too much can cause hairloss as well, so do not over doing it!

I guess it is normal to shed sometimes for Mino/finasteride user,keep on for a few weeks and see if things will get better again. Sure you can switch to Merck to have the peace of mind if the cost is not an issue.

Yeh I guess so. I've been on antibiotics for the last 4 months as well and I've just stopped a few days ago, but I highly doubt that's anything to do with it I always made to to take them at different times just to make sure but I'm going back on them next week anyway. Ill order some proscar next week just for a bit of peace of mind in the first few months.

When I initially went on finasteride the shedding pretty much stopped, like I could run my hands through my hair quite vigorously and get like maybe one hair if that, now its several just makes me wonder why, ill keep it up anyway.
