over the last couple of months, during and since returning from a holiday, I have noticed my hair feels really dry and looks what I think is thinner, possibly all over. I have noticed I can rub my hands through my hair a couple of times and the second time I get about 3/4 hairs with white bulbs. I have had high anxiety and stress over the last year or so, I have really bad panic attacks, can't think and have huge tension head aches. It really did take over my life. There was no real cause, I just had a panic attack one day and it freaked me out since. I went on holiday as part of my personal rehabilition program, which began about March, to help myself return to normal and during this time my circumstances have changed for the better and my stress, up until i started focusing and obsessing over my hair a couple of month back, had reduced to the point where I had less/no panic. I'm seeing the derm in a month, sadly only appt i could get. Do people with male pattern baldness notice a distinct change in hair texture and greasyness, if i left my hair two days without washing before my 'rehab' it would be greasy as hell but now it just feels dryer and coarse to the point i hate touching it! confused and not far off jumping on some meds....
It's like I'm jumped from one major stress to another!

Also I have been a Norwood 1.5 according to the scale on the main page for as long as I've cared about my hair(9 years?!?!) and have always had a noticable crown according to holiday pics from the same age. I'm 24.

Advice would be a mega put me on, at least until i can see the derm(also tempted to see a tricologist)

Thanks

Goodluck, my friend.

You should consider these:

Propecia
Rogaine
Nizoral (shampoo)

The Big 3.

Talk to your doctor, and get on some treatments.

Also, you should get on something to help you with anxiety.

no you wouldn't. generic nizoral is fine.

but if you're only an nw1.5 like me i would disagree with aplunk and tell you to only use the propecia and nizoral for you. that way you can gauge what regrowth propecia can give you in the next year. minoxidil will regrow hair but if you start minoxidil and propecia at the same time then you won't know which drug is giving you the regrowth. it would suck to use minoxidil every day indefinitely never knowing if it did anything for you. but if you wait a year on propecia, then decide whether or not to start minoxidil, you'll know that the regrowth you get is from minoxidil, and if it's not much, then you can just stop minoxidil.

thanks matey.

I'm convinced I need to get going on this asap. I duno whether to dive straight into what ur on, dutasteride?!!. from inhouse pharmacy?! thoughts??

I've been researching the vitamins - msm, gte and curcumin(harder to find), and wonder if there is any chance I ma overdo it, i already take b complex.

Thoughts/advice/inspiration?

I'm worried about the chemical stuff having no or adverse affect also, as i'm sure everyone does, and not sure how i'll cope mentally with any shedding.

I agree with Jayman. If your main aim is maintenance you should focus on Finasteride and Nizoral before adding minoxidil. You could also post some pictures. Many members of this forum know more about hair loss than the average derm. Good Luck with your hair loss!

depends what he meant by noticeable crown. if he wants some regrowth for that, he might want minoxidil, but remember itll have to stay forever if u want the minoxidil hair to stay!
