Well, it's been about 3 years now that I first started to notice a little thinning on the front of my scalp, and I began taking precautions right away (generic minoxidil 5%, for peace of mind). Family history of male pattern baldness is scattered, but generally speaking most of my relatives have maintained their hair well. I am 26 years old now, and this battle has been a constant series of ups and downs. Not a day goes by that I don't waste countless minutes worrying about how my hair looks.
For the past 10 month's I have been on finasteride, on and off minoxidl 5%, nizoral 2-3 times per week, and most recently the addition of rogaine foam 2x per day. When I first started the finasteride things where going well (co-workers asked "where did that little bald spot go?"), up until about a month and a half ago when the hair started dropping at an alarming rate. I'm now officially in panic mode and would give anything just to get back to baseline, where at the very least i could manage. I have read and understand how common it is to shed hair as its phases of growth are being unnaturally altered, but I began thinning all over from front to back. I continue to cross my fingers and tell myself this is something that I would have to go through just to see the slightest results, and as of now thats all I'm really looking for. I just need a little hope and a camera to share my pictures and the rest of the story. For now I trudge on through the daily rituals and continue to worry "How bad does it look?", with hope that I can hold onto this once beautiful quaft of hair for a few more years. There was a day when you couldn't run a come through my hair, now I don't dare because I just don't want to lose anymore.
