My doctor told me to do some tests recently and one of the items was the testosterone levels.
Well, after 10 years on PROSCAR (I'm not sure when I started the treatment, but I was in college back then so it was at least 10 years) everything seems to be normal. The good doctor told me my results were 'ok'; they weren't spectacular or anything, but they were acceptable.
«Total Testosterone: 531 ng/dL
20-49 years old: 286-1511
>50 years old: 212-742»
So, correct me if i'm wrong, but in a scale of 286-1511 I scored 531. It's not spectacular and I don't know if finasteride had any influence on these results (some of you have said it doesn't affect testosterone only DHT and it may actually increase testosterone levels).
Anyway, I don't intend to do any testosterone replacement therapy or anything like that. I heard it's effective but has disastrous results on your hair.
