Hello everyone,

I'm a 25YO male and I noticed that when I pull hair on the base of my neck, they come out easily. Last time I literally pulled 7hairs at once. And again 3 or 4 right after on the same small area.

I don't know if it's already out of the follicle and I'm separing it from my other hair or if they are still in the follicle and I'm pulling it out (The second theory is the one I believe - But I don't have to apply any strength, they come out very easily).

I do not seems to have any thinning on the top of my scalp :
But I know my side are a little bit thinner that my top (Don't know if it's always been like that or not).

Side :
Neck :
(I did circle the area where the hair comes out easily in the 3rd pic)

So, is it normal for neck hair to be easy to pull out ? (That's not breakage, they come with the white telogen bulb) or is it something like DUPA which would explain my thinner hair on side ?

Reminds me of a joke

Guy goes to a doctor and says my leg hurts when I punch it

Don’t pull your hair and it won’t come out. Big brain moment

Oh yes, you are so funny!

If do a thread/ask a question, it's obviously cause there is a problem with my hair.
When I say "pulling", it's a strong word but I barely pull them, I could exert 10 times more force than that on other area of my scalp and no hair would come out. It's not normal

I also loose hair of different diameter, which is not normal either.

I don’t see any sign of hairloss at all, the nape hairs look healthy af so do the hairs on your crown.

Even little kids have a little thinned out areas on their head it’s natural. Unless you’re suffering from hirsutism every cm of your body won’t be covered with hair follicles. Some people have dense hair some have naturally less dense hairs.

Pulling out hairs is actually a disease and called something I forgot. Bruh the hairs aren’t like mountains that they won’t come off easily. I remember when I had a full head of hair a sh*t ton would come out everyday I would comb or run my fingers over. But I wasn’t balding then.

if you’re so obsessed, take pictures in clear lighting and reasses in 6 months to a year. DUPA is very easy to tell so is hairloss, when you have to part your hair to see some empty area, you have the hairloss called BDD

I appreciate your answer (I really do) but

- The density between my top and my side scalp is night and day. I can feel it easily with my hand and I can see it easily too.
- I loose hair of different density. Some thin and some thick, which mean miniaturization
- I know about Trichotillomania (pulling hair disease) and last week was the first time ever I tried to pull some. When I say I barely pull, I mean that I don't exert more than the strength I use to press a key on my keyboard. They come easily (tried the same test on my hairline and nothing happenned).
- You said DUPA is easy to see. That's right when it's when it is an advanced stage but here it would just be the beginning of it.
- First pic is when I put the back of my head in the same direction of the lighting. (hair lenght is 25mm). Second is hair on my side and third is on my top (between hairline and vertex)
