Need Advice. 25 Years Old. Worse Than Nw2

I am 25 years old, a little worse than NW2 and not sure what to do about my hair situation
I 've noticed my receding hairline through my temples since I was 15, and of course it has been slowly but surely getting worse

I 've been reading this forum for hours yesterday trying to figure out what to do. The success stories on finasteride and minoxidil seem to be much less than the people telling you to stay away from them. I 've even read some posts of people saying that taking finasteride was the biggest mistake of their life!

I 've also read a lot posts about minoxidil saying that it caused the users to shed at the start (as they're supposed to) but the shedded hair never came back and has actually made their situation much worse than baseline

So I am stuck here now wondering if fighting it will make my life worse. I also don't want to spend a lot of money and be dependent on these products for a decade just to shave my head 2 years later than what I would have if I didn't try any treatments

I want to also note than I 've been using creatine for about 2 years which raises DHT, so like a dumbass I might have accelerated the baldness

So what should I do? Let it run its course and shave my head? Try finasteride? I really don't think minoxidil would be good for my situation

finasteride is the only FDA approve drug that gives you a chance at regrowth. It is more likely than not you will experience some regrowth and it is more likely than not you will be at or above baseline even after a decade of use. It is also more likely than not the side effects you suffer will largely be inconsequential to your daily life. It is also more likely than not that you will suffer some sides, such as reduced sex drive and watery semen however it is also more likely than not that they will not going to bother you too much.

There is always the chance with any medication that you are one of the very few who get serious sides, it happens but it isn't likely. If you want to keep your hair and have a shot at improving it from its current condition, you need finasteride. If you are not willing to go down this path you could try rogaine but to be honest, it does absolutely nothing to fight the root cause and you will continue to thin out anyway because it is a growth stimulator, not a dht inhibitor.

And by creatine do you mean test or some other roid? Its very unlikely that creatine would raise ones hormone levels to any amount that would have any appreciable difference in ones propensity to hairloss.

By creatine I mean creatine. The legal one. It's not a hormone/steroid or a drug, just a supplement. It raises DHT a bit

What name brand of Finasteride would you recommend? I live in Europe if that matters

Thanks for the response

Currently your best option to keep what you have is finasteride. Most people who use it do not experience side effects that they consider worse than going bald. But there's always the danger you will experience bad sides. I did. But for most if you stop you will go back to normal, I did.

Stop the creatine, start using nizoral shampoo and read actual studies on finasteride. From there decide whether you want to start it.

If not then you will probably have to start shaving it soon but you could try minoxidil to buy you a few years.

minoxidil without finasteride is just temporary though. And you mightn't even respond. But it's possible there will be more options in a few years as well.

I take Saw Palmetto currently and my hair is a lot better than it was 8 months ago when I started SP and minoxidil.

When I start deteriorating again I'll try other things such as zix, topical finasteride or maybe RU.

No, actually had increased libido for a few months after starting, now it's just normal.

I've been hyper vigilant about it as well.

Do they typically sell nizoran shampoo or propecia in pharmacies? If not, do you know any reliable online sellers in Europe?

In pharmacies here you can buy Nizoral over the counter.

You need prescription for Propecia though.

You probably won't experience serious sides on propecia, but if you do you will end up fucked up big time... I had severe sides and still dealing with them..

You gotta weigh the pros and cons. Is your hair worth a chance of permanent sexual dysfunction and cognitive impairment? Even if the chance is 5 percent.

Depends how much you value your hair over your dick.

5 percent sounds pretty high to be honest. What sides did you get?

From what kind of doctor? Dermatologist?

genital numbness, unable to get erections, severe insomnia and trouble concentrating.

If you are gonna start propecia, get a full hormonal panel done as a baseline.

How long since you stopped propecia and are you still dealing with the sides?

So I 've just visited my local pharmacy and turns out I can buy propecia without prescription. It's kind of expensive though, 40eu for 28tablets, 1mg. I didn't buy it as I am still not sure if the possibility of horrible side effects is worth it .
Can someone tell me what the best and worst case scenarios on propecia are? I don't feel like like rendering my dick useless permanently for a chance of keeping my hair a decade longer. It's not like I get laid, but still.
Also I should point that the balding only occcurs above the temples, and a bit of thinning at the front
I did buy nizoral, hope that helps a bit
